Fine Gardening Field Supervisor

We are seeking one talented Fine Gardening Field Supervisor to join our award-winning landscape installation team.

Responsibilities:

  • Distribute daily work orders for Fine Gardening crews / submit receipts at end of day
  • Provide clear and consistent direction and goals to Fine Gardening Crew Leaders
  • Supervise Fine Gardening Crew Leader production: set up crews, then perform periodic site visits to answer questions, check quality, and monitor progress
  • Oversee and provide quality control for pruning, weed control/prevention, deer spray, tree/shrub management below 15′, monitor irrigation systems to ensure they are working, hand water plants that are not established, transplant plants where necessary, implement a fertilizer/pesticide program with FG crews
  • Supervise plowing operations including time tracking, prepping and maintaining equipment, staffing, materials, quality control, and client satisfaction

Production:

  • Take responsibility for daily work tasks
  • Communicate openly with clients, supervisors and all team members
  • Ensure quality level and completion of work within scheduled time
  • Hold CLs accountable for their areas
  • Ensure the FG section remains neat and safe to “5s” standards
  • Assure loading/unloading of Fine Gardening crew trucks is completed at the end of each day
  • Expedite morning launch of crews & end of day exit
  • Conduct Safety training and ensure crews abide
  • Oversee care and cleaning of FG vehicles and equipment (Daily & Weekly)
  • Keep FG equipment and tools sharp and maintained
  • Keep vehicles maintained properly (regular oil change)
  • Manage all facility-based equipment to be in proper working order, including bathroom, air compressor, irrigation system, etc.
  • Close & secure facility as assigned per week
  • Monitor each FG project’s budgeted hours throughout project to ensure achievement of gross margin / review with CL daily & help take action
  • Post & analyze labor hours for each completed Fine Gardening contract to continually improve estimating and profitability of jobs; implement performance initiatives (monthly)
  • Approve scans of each of the FG crews on a daily basis
  • Maintain awareness of specific standing client requests, concerns or restrictions / share with other Production Team members as appropriate
  • Create strong working relationships with all team members
  • Act as a resource for Garden & Property Managers, Crew Leaders and team members to tap into for ideas and knowledge
  • Keep phone in working order and respond to work-related phone calls, e-mails, or other communication as soon as possible
  • Provide continuous training of Fine Gardening crews
  • Participate in weekly training sessions (tailgate/safety talks)
  • Attend courses and seminars to increase your knowledge and skills
  • Operate and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • College degree in related field or 3-5 years of horticultural or relevant experience
  • Looking for a responsible, detail-oriented, proactive, multitasker with a professional outlook
  • Ability to speak both English and Spanish fluently is a plus!

Compensation / Benefits
  • Pay range $40K-$55K – commensurate with experience. Successful applicant will receive a competitive compensation which includes paid time off and holidays, health & welfare benefits (medical / dental / vision / 401k).
