Conceptual Design

At LaurelRock, we believe the great outdoors is an extension of a home’s living space to be planned as carefully as any room on the interior of the home. Our designers create unique and exciting landscapes that reflect each client’s lifestyle, expressing their vision and sensibility. During the conceptual design process, we ask questions, listen carefully, sketch ideas, research products and share options. The result is a master plan and cost analysis - the first step toward ensuring that our clients receive the highest value for their investment.

Detailed Design

On almost all projects, our designers create detailed drawings for each aspect of the work, such as drainage, grading, layout, planting, lighting and masonry. These working drawings solidify and refine the design, providing material specifications and clarity to builders, field managers and installation crews, and, ultimately, reducing potentially costly field changes during construction.

Land Use/Zoning Approvals

Navigating the cumbersome land-use and zoning approval process can be time consuming and expensive. Handling these approvals properly from the outset is essential to getting started, and finishing the project on time and on budget. The LaurelRock Company's seasoned team of principals and designers have more than 50 years of experience in garnering the necessary city and town zoning, wetland and coastal area management (CAM) approvals for residential, commercial and institutional projects, large and small.

Whether serving as lead consultants, or as a team member working alongside attorneys, architects, engineers, geologists, soil scientists and other professionals, LaurelRock has successfully managed the approval process for hundreds of clients over the last 40 years. The LaurelRock Company can provide expert Landscape Architectural testimony, when necessary.
