Dickson’s professional experience before starting his own landscape architecture firm in 1975 includes work with a city planning agency, a civil engineering firm and an architectural office. In a recent honorific, the Connecticut Chapter of the American Association of Landscape Architects stated, “Dickson is without a doubt one of the most highly regarded landscape architects in Connecticut and across the country.” His election to the Council of Fellows of the American Society of Landscape Architects in November 2005 further recognized Dickson’s mastery of the art of landscape architecture, his exceptional design, planning, and project management, his demonstration of outstanding leadership, and his commitment and service to the profession.
Dickson holds a Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley, and has completed graduate work at Yale University and the University of California in Environmental and Land Use Analysis. He has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut’s Bartlett Arboretum and is past-President of both the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the international Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards.

Coming from a strong background in horticulture and management, Burt has built a loyal following. His unfaltering dedication to superior service, devotion to detail, and enthusiasm for excellence has elevated The LaurelRock Company to its premier position within the field of landscape design/build and property management.
Burt earned his Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture at the University of Connecticut’s College of Natural Resources. He developed a strong background in plant fundamentals at a prominent Connecticut nursery before joining with his father as founder of The LaurelRock Company in 1993. Burt holds the Certified Landscape Professional accreditation from the Professional Landcare Network, a national organization with over 4,000 member companies. He has completed professional certificate courses at Rutgers University and the University of Connecticut in the areas of arboriculture, estimating, irrigation installation and pruning. Burt is an active member of Professional Landcare Network committees. He holds a Custom Grounds Supervisory License issued by the State of Connecticut and is an Accredited Connecticut Nurseryman.
