Mary Santacaterina
Associate Garden Manager

Mary started her ‘green’ career as a freelance writer in Tokyo. Writing for the Tokyo American Magazine and the Tokyo Simbun, she encouraged her readers to “see the gardens they were visiting in a whole new way.” It wasn’t until Mary moved to England that she realized she wanted to do more than write. In addition to her BA in Creative Writing, she received her Design Certificate from The Ichbald School of Design and her Advanced Horticulture Certificate from Merrist Woods College. As a supplement to her formal education, Mary has knowledge of the Asian gardens in Japan, China, and Korea as well as the European gardens of England, Italy, Spain, and France. Currently, she is studying to become a Master Gardener through the University of Connecticut. Simply put, Mary’s breadth of experience and strong work ethic result in exceptional care of our clients’ fine gardens.
