Job Description

We are seeking a talented and dynamic individual to join our Landscape Management team. The Garden & Property Manager is a critical position within The Laurelrock Company and is the link between client and company for Enhancement sales, maintenance, and growth.

The LaurelRock Company is an award winning, full service landscape design / build / maintenance firm. We service some of the most outstanding, high-end residential properties in Fairfield County, CT. Our team of dedicated professionals, work in concert to create outstanding landscaped environments for our clients to enjoy. We are proud of our reputation for innovative design, high quality workmanship and uncompromised customer service.

Position responsibilities include: manage client relationships through proactive communication / manage contracts for a client base of 30-50 clients / sell landscape enhancements to meet sales goal / perform quality control audits / work with and train crews as they perform fine gardening tasks / coordinate with Production Manager to schedule work.

  • Manage multiple client properties
  • Manage client and subcontractor relationships
  • Recommend and sell Enhancements
  • Estimate Enhancement work
  • Provide excellent and proactive customer service
  • Supervise fine gardening crews
  • Design and install seasonal color and holiday decorating
  • Inspect properties and ensure quality of work
  • Promote LaurelRock's Core Principles

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:

The ideal candidate will possess

  • 2 or 4 year degree (preferably in horticulture) or 3+ years previous experience in a related field
  • Proficiency in plant knowledge
  • Proficiency with pruning and horticultural procedures
  • Ability to train others in field
  • Proficiency with desktop software, specifically: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks
  • Aptitude to learn quickly and integrate knowledge
  • Proven ability to multitask, manage change and meet expectations
  • Capacity to work as a team member and individually
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to prioritize client matters and make sound decisions
